🏫 Program Introduction (International Foundation Program)

Purpose of Establishment

In accordance with the Ministry of Education's policy, Asia University officially established the "International Foundation Program" in 2022. The program aims to cultivate outstanding overseas youth talents required for Taiwan's six core industries (manufacturing, construction, agriculture, long-term care, services, and e-commerce).

1+4 Curriculum Framework

First Year (Chinese Foundation): Students will take intensive Chinese courses upon enrollment. As long as students achieve a TOCFL A2 level or above before the end of the term, they can seamlessly transition into the 4-year professional degree program.
Year 2 to Year 5 (Professional Degree): After completing the Chinese foundation courses and obtaining TOCFL A2 or above, students will enter the Department of Healthcare Administration, Department of Food Nutrition and Health Biotechnology, or Department of Business Administration based on their preferences. During their professional studies, they will continue to enhance their Chinese proficiency, aiming to reach TOCFL B1 level in the first academic year. The curriculum integrates theory with practice, including internships and academic training, to cultivate students' professional skills and employment competitiveness.

⚠️ Admission Notice: Apart from promoting and assisting students with necessary procedures to come to Taiwan, our university DOES NOT outsource admission affairs to agencies. If applicants have any questions, please directly contact the Office of International Affairs at Asia University.

📢 Result Announcement & Enrollment

Announcement Date: July 15, 2026
Admission letters will be sent on July 22. Admitted students must reply with their enrollment intention by August 31 and formally register in September.

There is no application fee for applying to our IFP program. Tuition and fees will only be charged according to the department's standards after admission.

🎓 1+4 Framework & Tuition Mechanism

Phase 1: Chinese Foundation (Year 1)

Goals & Rules

Intensive Chinese training for over 15 hours per week
No prior Chinese foundation is required. You must obtain a TOCFL A2 certificate before the end of the term to proceed.
💡 Scholarship: Complete the first semester and pass TOCFL A1 to receive an "Accommodation Fee Waiver" for the second semester.

Phase 2: Professional Degree Program (Years 2-5)

Goals & Rules

Formally enter the department for a 4-year degree
Before entering the sophomore year, you must further pass TOCFL B1.
💡 Scholarship Condition:

Freshman: Enter with TOCFL A2 and no failed subjects to enjoy a 50% tuition & fee reduction.
Sophomore: Obtain TOCFL B1 with no failed subjects, awarded NT$25,000 per semester.

🏆 IFP Scholarship Information

[Year 1] Chinese Foundation Courses

Scholarship: All Chinese Language Preparatory Program students are eligible for a 100% waiver of tuition and on-campus housing fees in the second semester of the preparatory program (excluding winter and summer vacation accommodation). Miscellaneous and insurance fees must be paid in full.
Self-paid Expenses: International Foundation Program students are required to live in on-campus dormitories during their first academic year. Students should pay in full for miscellaneous fees, winter/summer vacation accommodation fees, accommodation deposits, school dormitory electricity and computer and network communication fees, student safety insurance, international student insurance, national health insurance fee (NHI), and living expenses.

[Year 2 - Year 5] Professional Degree Program

First Year (Freshman) Scholarship: IFP students who complete the Chinese Foundation Courses, obtain a TOCFL certificate at A2 level or above, successfully progress to a degree program as first-year undergraduate students, pay the registration fee, and complete all courses in the first semester of the major program with passing grades are eligible for a 50% tuition fee reduction scholarship for the first year. Eligibility for renewal in the second semester requires no failed courses.
Second Year (Sophomore) Scholarship: Students who complete the first-year courses of their major, obtain a TOCFL certificate at B1 or above, pay the registration fee, and pass all courses in the first semester of the second year are eligible for a NT$25,000 scholarship for tuition in the first semester of the second year. A NT$25,000 scholarship for the second semester will be granted, provided that no courses are failed in the second semester of the second year.
Accommodation & Other Details: Upon completion of the Chinese Preparatory Program, students may choose to remain in the student dormitories or live off campus. Dormitory fees do not include accommodation during winter and summer vacations.

📚 Curriculum Planning

Chinese Foundation Courses

The Chinese foundation courses of the International Foundation Program (IFP) are professionally taught by the university's Chinese Language Center (JCLC), offering comprehensive and intensive training. The curriculum ranges from zero-based pronunciation and daily conversation to advanced academic reading and writing, comprehensively improving students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Combined with rich Taiwanese cultural experiences, the program guides students to successfully obtain the TOCFL A2/B1 certificates, laying a solid foundation for their future professional degree studies.

Academic, Living Guidance & Work-Study Visit

【Academic Guidance】

Individualized Tutoring: Instructors provide personalized support during Office Hours, focusing on challenging grammar and sentence structures, and arranging oral exercises to enhance learning outcomes.
Evening TOCFL Prep Classes: Held twice a week before exams, focusing on listening and reading. Through mock exams and past papers, students build test-taking strategies and confidence.
"Chinese Table" Language Exchange: Held twice a week with free registration. Taiwanese students act as language buddies for one-on-one communication, helping with academic questions and local life adaptation while deepening cross-cultural experiences.

【Living Guidance】

Assign living guidance counselors (e.g., full-time Vietnamese assistants) to assist with cross-cultural adaptation and daily life consultations.
Assist in administrative services such as ARC application, bank account opening, and work permit application.
Organize the Buddy Program to help international students integrate into campus and local life.
For the IFP Chinese preparatory period, a "Counselor Interview Week" (once a month) is planned. Each class has a class leader and a vice-class leader who regularly care for students and fill out class logs weekly, providing direction for counselor interviews and guidance.
Establish an international student kitchen to support students in cooking hometown dishes and improve their quality of life.

【Work-Study Visit】

Proactive Verification: The school should track students' work-study situations to ensure the implementation of guidance and care for off-campus work-study.
Rights Advocacy: Regularly conduct legal awareness campaigns to clearly inform students of work-study regulations.
Work Permit Management: Ensure that students hold an official "Work Permit" before engaging in work-study.

Penalties for Overstaying ARC

Overstay under 10 days: Fine of NT$10,000.
Overstay 11-30 days: Fine of NT$20,000.
Overstay 31-60 days: Fine of NT$30,000.
Overstay 61-90 days: Fine of NT$40,000.
Overstay over 91 days: Fine of NT$50,000.

⚠️ If a student is expelled, withdraws voluntarily, or suspends their studies, they must report to the National Immigration Agency to process their departure within 10 days.
