A Visa / ARC

Short-term study (less than 6 months): You may apply for a Visitor Visa. It is valid for 60 days and can be extended up to 2 times.

Degree students (more than 6 months): You must apply for a Resident Visa. If you enter Taiwan with a Visitor Visa, you must convert it at BOCA before expiry.

Resident Visa holders must apply for an ARC at the National Immigration Agency (NIA) within 15 days (or 30 days depending on regulations) after arrival.

Required Documents:

  • Application Form
  • Passport (original and copy)
  • Resident Visa
  • Student ID or Enrollment Certificate
  • One 2-inch photo (white background)
  • Application Fee: NT$1,000 (for 1 year)

Arrival Procedures:
Ensure you have completed the Online Arrival Card (TWAC) before passing through immigration to speed up your entry.

B Insurance
  • National Health Insurance (NHI): Compulsory after holding an ARC for 6 consecutive months.
  • Group Medical Insurance: For new students not yet eligible for NHI.
Email your ARC copy and a 2-inch photo to oia@asia.edu.tw. Subject: [Student ID] Apply for NHI card.
D Work Permit
Max 20 hours per week during the semester. No limit during winter/summer vacations.
E Residence
  • On-Campus: ~NT$12,500/semester.
  • Off-Campus: NT$3,000 - 7,000/month.

  • Station: Bus 108 / 200.
  • HSR: Bus 151.
I Curriculum
Yes. The Chinese Language Center offers courses from basic to advanced levels.
