Center for International Academic Exchange (CIAE)

The mission of the Center for International Academic Exchange (CIAE) is to provide supportive services for both international and local students at Asia University.

Core Responsibilities

• International Student Recruitment: We are committed to attracting qualified students with diverse backgrounds to Asia University.
• International Partnerships: Our center manages all partnerships and cooperation agreements established between Asia University and other higher education institutions.
• Cross-Border Collaboration: We are devoted to promoting cross-border academic collaboration and intercultural exchange among faculty and students.
• Student Mobility: Providing international exchange programs and dual degree programs. Varied programs are provided to meet different requirements, along with various scholarships.
• Admission Support: Assisting prospective students with applications, visas, and issuing admission letters.

Center for Cross-Strait Academic Exchange (CCAE)

The Center for Cross-Strait Academic Exchange is dedicated to fostering educational cooperation and cultural understanding between Asia University and institutions in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau.

Key Functions

• Admissions Management: Handling admissions and registration for Mainland China students, Hong Kong and Macau students, and overseas Chinese students.
• Support Services: Providing comprehensive support for Mainland Chinese students, including life guidance and academic counseling.
• Insurance Operations: Managing Group Insurance and National Health Insurance (NHI) operations for students under the center's care.
• Exchange Affairs: Coordinating cross-strait exchange programs and scholarship disbursement operations.
• Facility Management: Managing the "International Kitchen and Lounge" to provide a welcoming space for students.

Chinese Language Center (CLC)

The Chinese Language Center at Asia University offers professional Mandarin training for international students, helping them acquire language skills for both daily life and academic pursuits.

Program Highlights

• CEFR-Based Curriculum: Courses are designed according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), ranging from beginner to advanced levels.
• Summer Chinese Language Programs: Special short-term programs designed for international students to learn Chinese and experience Taiwanese culture (e.g., calligraphy, cultural trips).
• Student Support: Assisting students with obtaining Mandarin proficiency certificates and providing life guidance.
• International Collaboration: Working with partner universities to organize language and culture exchange groups.

International Foundation Program (IFP)

International Foundation Program
In response to the government's initiative to attract and retain overseas students, Asia University established the International Foundation Program. We offer a comprehensive "1-year Mandarin Preparatory Program + 4-year Bachelor's Degree" model. This program is specially designed for overseas students who do not have a foundational background in Mandarin Chinese, providing a smooth pathway to higher education in Taiwan.

Program Features & Structure

• Mandarin Preparatory Phase: Students undergo intensive Mandarin training for up to one academic year. By the end of this phase, students must pass Level 2 (CEFR A2) of the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) to progress to the degree program.
• Bachelor's Degree Phase: After passing the language threshold, students officially enroll in their chosen major. By the end of their freshman year, they must pass TOCFL Level 3 (CEFR B1).
• Scholarships & Financial Aid: The program offers generous scholarships, including tuition and accommodation fee reductions during the preparatory phase, and up to a 50% tuition reduction in the first year of the degree program for qualifying students.

Application Eligibility

• High school graduates who qualify as International Students, Overseas Chinese Students, or Hong Kong and Macau Students according to the Ministry of Education's regulations.
• Applicants must possess a strong motivation to learn Mandarin Chinese and pursue a bachelor's degree at Asia University.
