
On the morning of August 21, 2025, a delegation from the Department of Economics at Maejo University, Thailand, visited Asia University, Taiwan, for an exchange visit. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as academic collaboration, student exchange programs, and Chinese language teaching, demonstrating a strong commitment to deepening the bilateral partnership.
The visiting Thai delegation included: Dr. Pimpimon Kaewmanee, Chair of the Department of Economics; Dr. Chanita Panmanee, Deputy Chair of the Department of Economics; and Dr. Kewalin Somboon, Professor of Economics. Asia University warmly hosted the guests, including Director Dr. Pang Yujuan of the Cross-Strait Education Exchange Center, Director Dr. Mao Yuanzhen of the Chinese Language Center, and Associate Professor Dr. Lu Mengrou, Deputy Chair of the Department of Finance and Banking.
The two sides exchanged ideas on potential student exchange programs, Chinese language course designs, and research collaborations. They also discussed the structure of Asia University's Chinese language summer programs offered by the Chinese Language Center. During the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to observe the language classes, leaving a strong impression of both the students' engagement and the interaction between teachers and students.
This exchange marks the beginning of new opportunities for collaboration. Going forward, both institutions will continue to promote mutual student mobility and faculty exchanges, strengthening academic and language education cooperation between the two universities.
Through this visit, both universities have established a more solid foundation of mutual trust and understanding, which will play an important role in Asia University's ongoing efforts to expand its international network in the Asian region.
